The ‘Earth Hour’ is a worldwide venture organized every year by the ‘World Wildlife Fund’ (WWF). This year an unprecedented number of cities, 4000 cities from 88 countries took part, bringing the issue of climate change into focus. For the event, households and businesses alike were asked to switch off their lights for an hour. This year the ‘Earth Hour’ was between 8:30pm and 9:30pm (IST), on March 28, 2009.
